Jardin Thuret Painted Plants  Plant Facts

The Jardin Thuret was one of the original gardens to experiment with tropical plants in Europe and inspired much of the planting along the French and UK coasts
.

The garden is located on the Cap d'Antibes in the South of France and has 3.5 hectares of trees and exotic plants The garden is not protected in the winter to allow the plants to naturally establish, and this has resulted in a collection of plants which are ideally suited to the climate fo the region..

The garden was created in 1857 by gustave Thuret and in collaboration with Edouard Bornet the garden undertook tests with exotic plants which have contributed to the planted landscape of the Cote d'Azur.

The Jardin Thuret is part of INRA
